Frequently Asked questions (FAQs)

It is an initiative of the Lagos State Government and the main objective is to bridge the skills gap among unemployed Lagos Sate residents to enable them take up existing jobs in the various sectors of the economy.

The project is an initiative of Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) in partnership with United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to address the employment challenge in Lagos State.

You will receive free vocational training that will enable you work in these sectors: Construction, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Hospitality, Entertainment and Garment Making. Please click here for more information on the available skills training courses.

The duration of the training courses varies from 6-8 weeks depending on the vocational training an applicant selects. Applicants must also be ready to commit to fulltime training (8am-5pm) otherwise a certificate will not be issued, and applicants will not benefit when there are opportunities for job placement.

The training sessions will take place at authorized Vocational Training Centres (VTC).

(i) You will have access to a free training program that gives you the opportunity to learn a skill.

(ii) You will receive a certificate at the end of the program that enable you work to improve your capacity to earn, improve your life and that of your family

(i) Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and35 years with at least a junior secondary school leaving certificate. They must be resident in Lagos State and show evidence of LASSRA ID.

(ii) Visit www.lsesp.ng

(iii) Once your application form has been shortlisted, you will receive an SMS directing you to a VTC for screening.

(iv) If screening is successful, you will be given admission for the training

(v) Then you will be informed of the start date of the training

There is no guarantee of employment, however, LSETF is making every effort to facilitate opportunities for job placement for successful students upon completion of the course depending on the needs of the industry.

You can only benefit from one of LSETF Programs either the Loan or the Employability Program.

The training program is free but applicants will be assessed based on the vocational skills they applied for.
